How to Receive SMS Online with a Temporary Number

Open the countries directory and select the country you need. Then choose the exact app or website sending your SMS from the available service list. Review the current stock and activation cost; inventory can change between browsing and purchase.

US example: for an American number, open the US numbers page and select the service. A +1 prefix alone does not prove a number is American, because Canada and other North American Numbering Plan regions also use it. Select USA in the country list rather than choosing by prefix alone.

The duration menu offers 20 minutes and extended requests for 1, 3, or 7 days. Its extended-duration prices are estimates; the supplier determines the final rental cost. Check your activation details after purchase. Top up through Wallet if your balance is insufficient.

Use “Copy full number” on the activation page. If the external form already selects United States (+1), follow that form’s format and do not add the country code twice.

Demonstration only: +1 202 555 0148 illustrates a US-formatted number; it is not inventory and must not be used to request a real code. Use only the number assigned to your activation.

Submit the verification request on the external service, then return to SMS Virtual. The active message view checks for updates periodically. Read the SMS body as well as the extracted code and copy the code into the original verification form.

Demonstration only: a message saying “Your example verification code is 482913” illustrates where a code appears. Never share real codes or passwords with another person.

Request messages only while the number is active. Receiving the first SMS does not automatically close the rental; additional messages can appear while it remains active. If no SMS arrives, see the troubleshooting guide before buying another number.
